Years ago, maybe 20-25 years ago, I bought a White's Surfmaster PI. I bought it used on ebay. Anyway, I used it some, and it seemed like a good simple detector to use. When it beeped, I dug. Great on the beach, and pretty good on dry land. I sold it somewhere along the line, but of course wished I hadn't.

The Whites Surfmaster PI is an older Whites. The Surf PI Pro is their up to day Pulse and while nice in the dry and wet sand, the coil floats in the water.
