The scandium alloys are pretty tough. They don't exhibit the stress fracturing that aluminum does on its own. If an aluminum frame can last a really long time, I'm willing to bet that the scandium alloy frame will extend that mark significantly.

Both rumors could be true, if the frames of the scandium revolvers are mostly aluminum. Steel stretches, aluminum doesn't. Because of that, aluminum will develop fatigue cracks more quickly than steel, and can suffer catastrophic failure. Steel will absorb the pounding by eventually stretching if the stress is beyond a certain level.
